Invisalign®, sometimes called "invisible braces," is a rewarding and efficient type of new orthodontic device, and very popular with our Excel Dentistry patients. Rather than using metal brackets and wires like traditional braces, Invisalign® uses a series of clear plastic aligners to move teeth into place.
The Invisalign® aligners are customized for our Glen Rock and Passaic patients through a unique computer program. The four step process begins with the creation of a mold of the patient's teeth; then the impression is turned into a 3-dimensional CT scan. The computer program takes the CT scan and simulates the natural movement of the teeth. Finally, precisely measured aligners are made for each stage of straightening.
Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks, and then replaced by the next one in the straightening process. Because Invisalign® uses clear plastic, this type of orthodontic device is difficult to detect.
